MP Donates To Asesewa Govt Hospital

Member of parliament for upper manya krobo constituency of the eastern region, Jeff Kavienu has assured management of Asesewa government hospital and the people in the area his continious support to quality healthcare in the district and has however urged management to continue their hardwork.
He was speaking at a presentation of a n ultra-modern scan machine to the hospital at Asesewa, the district capital at a cost of 150 million cedis.
According to him, the donation would go a long way to help in the healthcare of the people within the district as patients were refered to Koforidua anytime they are to take a scan. "I hope the device will go a long way to help reduce the problems both management and inhabitants are going through" the MP added.
Mr. Kavienu however appealed to management of the hospital to take good care of the device in order to last long to benefit all. He also pledged to help seek for more support to help solve most of the challenges the hospital faces.
The medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Eric Boateng commended the MP for his kind gesture and therefore appealed for more support. He was worried that the current power outages is having effects on the hospital as a lot of money is needed to fuel the stanby generator.
"Our creditors are also on out necks due to the huge debt the hospital owes them" he stated.
According to him almost 90% of patients who visits the facility are normally bearers of the national health insurance scheme thereby reducing their internal generated fund and therefore appealed to the scheme authorities to release their claims early.
On the increase in teenage pregnancy, Dr. Boateng called for public education in order to reduce rate.
