Loans for women groups are not gratis from political parties

Winneba (C/R), April 26 GNA - Mr Enoch Annan, Winneba district chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Ghanaians to eschew the habit of not repaying micro-finance granted them. He said such monies from government chest, given out as loans must be paid back for others to also to enjoy, adding that it was not a gratis from a particular political party.

Mr Annan stated this, when he met women groups, who had applied for financial support from the Government to expand their enterprises at Winneba.

He said empowerment of women was the key to ensuring sustainable development and ultimate poverty eradication that was why government gave such credit facilities to promote, especially women economic productivity.

He advised them, as potential women, they should use monies given them as seed fund for the purpose they acquired it to enhance growth in their livelihood.

Adding that, it is only the healthy and strong that could contribute towards the socio-economic development of a country and urged them to improve upon their environmental sanitation to avoid such diseases like malaria and cholera.

HIV/AIDS was no friend to anybody and that they should keep themselves from all its modes of infections, he added.
