Let’s support govt push national agenda – Yamin

Mr. Joseph Yamin, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, has asked Ghanaians to throw their weight behind the government and support it to push the nation’s development agenda forward.

He said though the government was committed to the total development of the country, it would need the support of all to complement its efforts at all the levels of developmental efforts.

Mr Yamin was speaking at a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a District Court of Justice, at Sabin Akrofrom, in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of Ashanti.

The GH¢340,000.00 project, initiated by the chief of the town, Nana Osei Kofi, is expected to be completed by the end of the year, and would consist of a judge’s chamber and 10 offices and washrooms.

It would be funded by the Sabin Akrofrom stool.

Mr. Yamin praised Nana Osei Kofi for his efforts and said the chief would receive the government’s support.

He said what the chief had done needed to be emulated by other stakeholders in the area to bring development and progress to the people.

Nana Kwabena Nkrumah, the District Chief Executive (DCE), said the government had embarked on various projects to enhance the welfare of the people, which he said, included classrooms, roads and health facilities.

He said Nana Osei Kofi had set the pace for the rapid development of the area and urged other chiefs to think of what they could also do to promote peace, progress, and the well being of the people.

He urged the people to unite and subject themselves to issues that would bring peace and tranquility to facilitate the development to the district.

Mr. John Josiah-Kwofie, expressed happiness that the Chief was helping to bring justice and peace to the doorsteps of the people.

Nana Osei Kofi, the Chief of the town, said the contractors and the building materials were already on the ground for work to start.

He, however, called for public and government support to be able to complete the project on schedule.
