LEFISCO holds 13th graduation

Suhum (E/R), Aug 10, GNA – Chief Ofori Addo Acheampong, Director of Learning Field International Schools Complex (LEFISCO) at Suhum in the Eastern Region, has called on parents to avoid spending lavishly on marriages, funerals and parties but rather invest in the education of their children.

He also urged parents to ensure the proper early childhood development of their children.

Chief Acheampong was speaking to the Ghana News Agency shortly at the school’s 13th graduation, speech and prize-giving day at Suhum at the weekend.

He said the best legacy parents could bequeath to their children was knowledge and skills that would make them self-reliant and enable them to contribute meaningfully to national development.

The Director observed that late payment and non-payment of fees retarded the smooth operation of the school and therefore, urged parents to desist from the practice to enable the school to groom and mould the children for a better future.

He said the staff of the school were personnel with high academic prowess and commended them for working diligently to improve on discipline, academic performance and sports in the school.

He said LEFISCO emerged third in a recent Eastern Regional French Language competition, organized at the Koforidua Pope John’s School.

The Director said the school currently had an ultra-modern computer laboratory to enhance the study of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and that it presented 37 candidates comprising 23 boys and 14 girls, for the 2011 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
