Kpembe community cheers as MP launches modern sanitation project

The Director of Special Projects at the Office of the Member of Parliament, Mustapha Nafiu, together with the Assemblyman for the Kpembe Electoral Area, Eliasu Siibu, on December 8, 2025 led a team to Kpembe to demolish the dilapidated toilet facility at Kayanse.

The exercise forms part of ongoing preparations toward the construction of a modern and befitting toilet facility for the people of Kpembe by the Member of Parliament, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah.

This intervention follows persistent calls from residents particularly those in the Kayanse area for improved sanitation infrastructure.

Prior to the demolition, the Municipal Chief Executive and the Constituency Chairman held a community sensitization programme, which brought together chiefs, opinion leaders and the youth.

The session was aimed at informing residents about the MP’s plans and the benefits of the new facility.

Residents, including the Assemblyman, expressed appreciation for the project, noting that the poor state of the old structure had forced many people to resort to open defecation.

They added that their prayers and support remain with the MP and the MCE as they eagerly look forward to the completion of the new facility.
