Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced a temporary interruption in water supply to Koforidua and surrounding communities in the Eastern Region on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

According to the company, the interruption will last for 17 hours, from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., to allow maintenance works to be carried out at the Bukunor Water Treatment Plant.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the Eastern Regional Management of Ghana Water Limited explained that the exercise forms part of routine maintenance aimed at ensuring the treatment plant remains in good working condition.

The company has therefore advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to store enough water ahead of the scheduled interruption to avoid difficulties during the period.

GWL further assured customers that water supply would resume after the maintenance works had been completed.

The company also apologised to residents for any inconvenience the interruption may cause and appealed for their cooperation as it undertakes the maintenance exercise.

Residents have been encouraged to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the shutdown to ensure they have sufficient water for their daily activities.
