Koforidua Regional Hospital acquire vehicles

Koforidua, Aug 5, GNA - Two double-cabin Nissan and Toyota pick-ups valued at 406 million cedis, which the Koforidua Regional Hospital bought with internally-generated funds were dedicated at the Hospital on Wednesday.

Evangelist Michael Owusu Akyeampong of the Anglican Church performed the ceremony.

The Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr Obeng Apori, said the management of the Hospital bought the vehicles to enhance service delivery.

He said most of the Hospital's seven vehicles, including the ambulance, were at least 10 years old and constantly broke down. ''It costs the hospital 140 million cedis annually to maintain the vehicles hence the decision to acquire the vehicles to help reduce cost.''
