Kofi Buah wants assembly members to focus on their developmental role

Nkroful (W/R), May 23, GNA-The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, Mr.Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has reminded Assembly members of their fundamental role of pushing the development agenda their respective districts. He therefore advised them to deliberate on issues deviod of partisan politics adding, when issues are politicised, "the timely commencement of developmental projects are delayed".

Mr.Buah, who is also the deputy Minister for Energy, was addressing the first ordinary meeting of the third session of the Ellembelle District Assembly at Nkroful in the Western Region. The MP pledged his preparedness to address the challenges in the educational and health infrastructure facing the district and appealed to the Assembly members to co-operate with him to accelerate the pace of development in the area.

Mr. Buah cautioned civil servants who felt reluctant to contribute to the developmental drive of the district adding that, "I will not hesitate to call for the transfer of any civil servant who fails to work for the development of Ellembelle".

The District Chief Executive for Ellembelle, Mr. Daniel K. Eshun, appealed to government to increase the number of Police personnel in the district so as to improve the security situation to meet the challenges the oil industry would pose to the area. He said the Assembly has completed a number of projects including a Nursery block at Baku, a 3 unit-classroom block, an office and a store room at Ankobra, a-six unit classroom block at Kanokware and a-three aqua privy toilet at Asasetre, Nkroful Senior High School and the Awiebo market.
