A second year student of the Kintampo Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo, named as Patricia has been kidnapped by unknown abductors.

The victim who has gone missing for the past one week was on her way to school when occupants of a private car who claimed they will use the road leading to her school approached her and feigned giving the victim a free ride to school.

The Headmaster of the School, Mr Atta Amponsah Frimpong who confirmed the incident narrated that upon reaching the school junction, Patricia asked the driver to stop so she would alight but the driver declined and rather sped off to an unknown destination.

He said the school authorities got to hear of the incident after the victim sent her colleague a text message informing her of her ordeal.

“Soon after we got this message, we quickly informed the victim’s parents and then we all went to the Police station to inform the police of the development.”

Kintampo Police Commander, Chief Supt. Desmond Owusu Boampong in an interview stated that his outfit is doing everything possible to bring the kidnappers to book.

“We’ve alerted other police stations about this issue. We’ve told the victim’s parents to prompt us of any information they gather from their daughter so that we use that as our lead to find and rescue her.

“We are due for court to grant us permission to ask the mobile telecommunication company of which the victim is a subscriber to give us details of where the messages sent by the her is coming from, so we can find her exact location. I have been calling her line periodically so I can talk to her but she hasn’t been able to pick my calls and she’s also yet to call me back.”
