Ketu DCE is on three-week vacation leave- Coordinating Director

Denu (V/R), Nov. 7, GNA- Mr Divine Ayidzoe, Ketu District Co-ordinating Director on Thursday denied rumours that Mr Linus Koffie, the District Chief Executive (DCE) has been directed by government to proceed on leave for alleged corruption.

Mr Ayidzoe told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Denu on Wednesday, that Mr Koffie was on normal vacation for three weeks beginning from October 23 to November 17, this year.

He said recent media reports of alleged acts of corruption and abuse of power against Mr Koffie on his vacation, were coincidental. "As far as the Ketu District Assembly is concerned, the DCE is on normal vacation but in terms of government order to proceed on leave we have no letter to that effect", Mr Ayidzoe said.

He said the DCE had since travelled outside the country but not at the prompting of government to save his face as the media reports seemed to portray.

Mr Ayidzoe said notice of the DCE's leave dated October 23 was signed by Mr Koffie himself, in which he procedurally handed over the administration of the district to Mr Kofi Dzamesi, Deputy Volta Regional Minister.

He explained that the DCE's family are still occupying the official residence.
