A banker, Yeboah Asiamah, has built a health centre with Maternal Health Care, Ultrasound Scan, Laboratory Services and Child Welfare Departments, for the residents of Kenyasi in the Kwabre East district of the Ashanti region, at a cost of GHC 500,000.

The health centre, VEDNAN MEDICAL AND NATURAL HEALTH CENTRE, which will provide a 24-hour service, will serve not only the Kenyasi residents but also residents in surrounding communities who travel miles to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi for medical treatment.

Presenting the keys of the facility, on behalf of the banker, to the people of Kenyasi, Madam Boadu Boateng Aning, believed the facility will help to reduce maternal and infant mortality, which has been a challenge to the quality health delivery system in the country.

“I trust that the establishment of this centre will help you a lot, especially to our pregnant mothers who have to travel far to Kumasi for anti-natal services and delivery, because there is no clinic here to attend to them. All that I seek from you is to take good care of this facility so that it will last long to provide good services to the people,” she appealed.

The Queen mother of Kenyase Nana Amoah Brayie II receiving the keys expressed her gratitude to the financiers for putting up the ultra-modern clinic and how beneficial it will mean to them.

She, however, called on the medical doctors and the nurses who will be assigned duties at the clinic to discharge their duties with utmost care for humanity.
