The Kennedy Agyapong campaign in the Krobo block of the Eastern Region is intensifying its mobilisation efforts ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary scheduled for January 2026.
Robert Adjase Tetteyfio, the coordinator for the campaign in the area, says delegates and youth groups are increasingly aligning themselves with the former Assin Central legislator due to his strong emphasis on job creation and economic empowerment.
Speaking during a community engagement tour with delegates, the former Head of Assets at the Office of the President under the Akufo Addo government stressed that Kennedy Agyapong’s message resonates powerfully with young people across Yilo Krobo, Lower Manya Krobo, Upper Manya Krobo, and Asuogyaman where unemployment remains a major challenge.
“You have to be close to someone like Ken Agyapong to know the qualities he possesses. We have decided to back him by preaching his message to the Krobo people because he always talks about jobs. Most youth in the Krobo block have completed school without securing employment. They need jobs, and Ken has assured us he will create them. If this happens, crime will also reduce,” he explained.
He explained that although all aspirants in the upcoming primary are competent, Kennedy Agyapong stands out because of his practical track record in business and his hands-on commitment to job creation even outside political office.
“Even now that he is not president, he is creating jobs,” Adjase Tetteyfio noted, adding that “He has invested in a steel factory, a cold store and a plastic factory, all of which employ large numbers of Ghanaian youth. This is the kind of leadership the country needs."
According to him, Agyapong’s engagements with international investors also position him as the candidate with the clearest plan for economic growth.
He said several investors have expressed readiness to commit significant resources into Ghana’s economy if Kennedy Agyapong becomes president, describing it as a major opportunity for national development.
The campaign coordinator further argued that the youth view Agyapong as “the hope of the country,” adding that his leadership style, business experience and commitment to industrial expansion make him the best candidate to lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections.
He appealed to NPP delegates in the Krobo block and across the country to give Kennedy Agyapong the nod in January.
“Party people should vote for him in the NPP presidential primary because he is the one Ghanaians want. We have tasked our team to ensure a clean campaign devoid of insults and attacks. We will focus on preaching Ken’s good works. The wind of change is blowing, and we are confident victory will be ours,” he added.
Kennedy Agyapong won the Upper Manya Krobo and Lower Manya Krobo constituencies in the last NPP presidential primary but narrowly lost in the Yilo Krobo constituency.
His team believes the renewed focus on job creation and community engagement will help secure a stronger result this time around.
Ken's campaign tour across the country is expected to continue in the weeks ahead as the January 2026 poll draws nearer.
