Karaga Assembly confirms DCE

Assembly members at the Karaga District in the Northern Region on Wednesday voted and overwhelmingly endorsed Mr Imoro Yakubu, as District Chief Executive (DCE).

Mr Yakubu polled 45 votes out of the 48 Member House present representing 95.7.

The election, which was supervised by the Northern Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Mr Bruce Ayisi attracted National Democratic Congress Regional executives and Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru, Northern Regional Minister and the Deputy Regional Minister, Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini.

Mr Yakubu expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for nominating him and thanked the Assembly for the confirmation and called for team work to push the district’s development agenda forward.

He said he would work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him and pledged to operate an open door administration to continue with the development process that others left.

Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru, Regional Minister expressed the importance of unity and hard work to enable government to implement the “Better Ghana Agenda” successfully.
