The Kanokware youth club (KYC) has distributed stationery to Kanokware basic school in the Ellembelle district of the Western region.

The items included: 1000 exercise books, 288 pencils, 240 erasers, 200 pens, and 200 sharpeners.

Speaking to the media after the distribution, the president of the club, Peter Asante, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the youth of the club for contributing immensely to sustaining the group.

He revealed that the members of the club were residents of the farming community who completed the Kanokware primary and junior high school some years ago.

"We, the members of this club, are past students of Kanokware Basic School. Our aim is to put our resources together to support our school to improve", he said.

He took the opportunity to appeal to well-to-do individuals and companies to come to the aid of the club to realize their aim.

"We will use your medium to appeal to others to come to our aid by donating money or items to support us because we need money to support our school", he pleaded.

He further advised the pupils to make good use of the stationery and also called on them to take their studies seriously.

"In fact, this gesture will go a long way to improve their learning, we will appeal to them to take proper care of the items", he urged.

The Circuit Supervisor of Kanokware, Kenyah Anyimah, commended the Kanokware youth club for the kind gesture.

"The Ellembelle Education Directorate is very happy for this kind gesture", he acknowledged.

He urged the youth group to continue with what they have started.

He called on other youth in the Ellembelle district to emulate the youth of Kanokware to support their communities.

He further took the opportunity to appeal to the government and other well-to-do individuals to come to the aid of Kanokware Primary School.

"You have done well, but there are more to be done for the school because right now the school building is not in good shape, and we need your support to renovate this school building", he appealed.

Some of the pupils who spoke to this reporter thanked the youth and promised to make good use of the items.

In another development, the Church of Pentecost at Kanokware presented furniture to the Kanokware basic school.
