KMA tax collectors shut down 15 stalls

Tax Collectors of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) have closed down fifteen (15) shops at the Central Market.

An investigation conducted by Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo revealed that the stalls were closed down after the traders failed to pay GHC2 ticket fee.

The traders speaking to Osei Kwadwo said they can’t afford to pay a daily fee of 2 cedis.

The traders have threatened to sue KMA tax collectors if they failed to open all the 15 stalls.

According to the traders, they strongly believe that paying two (2) cedis ticket fee will collapse their businesses.

“We don’t understand why KMA tax collectors have decided to increase our ticket fee from one (1) cedi to two (2) cedis. When they came around, they told us that, they have increased our ticket fee because we voted against the Mahama administration during 2016 elections.

‘We are calling on President Nana Addo and Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah to intervene else we will advice ourselves” they said.
