KATH rewards hard work and commitment

Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), the nation’s second largest referral facility, has held its annual awards ceremony to reward hard work, dedication and loyal service.

In all, 127 employees were honoured with various prizes including 32-inch LED Television sets, laptop computers, refrigerators, Samsung tablets and five-burner cookers.

Dr Gyikua Plange-Rhule of the Child Health Department was adjudged the Overall Best Worker for the year, and she received Ghc10,000 plus other items.

Mr Isaiah Offei Gyimah, Acting Chief Executive of the Hospital, said management would continue to motivate the staff to give off their best to save lives and bring comfort to the sick.

He said although the facility was faced with financial challenges that would not prevent it from making a strong statement on its vision to become a centre of excellence.

This is why, over the past five years, the hospital had recognised a total of 350 of its workers with prize awards, he said, and expressed confidence that all would be inspired and energized to work with dedication, passion, high sense of duty and professionalism.
