Jomoro Assembly confirms President Nominee

Half Assini (W/R), June 9, GNA - The Jomoro District Assembly on Thursday approved the President nominee, Mr Sylvester Nuomah Daddie as the District Chief Executive (DCE).

He polled 40 out of the 48 votes cast; representing 83.4 per cent of the election supervised by Mr Stephen Opoku Mensah, Western Regional Electoral Officer.

In his acceptance speech, Mr Daddie expressed appreciation to President John Evans Atta Mills for according him the honour to serve the people of Jomoro and the nation at large.

He said he would highly justify the confidence reposed him in the administration of the area.

Mr Daddie acknowledged the contributions of his predecessors in the development of the district and promised to complete their uncompleted projects.

He also promised to work assiduously and in harmony with the chiefs, non-governmental organisations and assembly members to realise the vision of the government.

Mr Francis Ehwia Armah, Presiding Member of the Assembly thanked the members for approving the President nominee.

Ms Samia Yaba Nkrumah, Member of Parliament for Jomoro said the endorsement of the DCE was a landmark in the democratisation of the district and thanked the assembly members for the smooth election.

She pledged to work in harmony with the new DCE to move the district forward.

The former DCE for the area, Mr Victor Nyianyi Kablam was fired by the President on March 16.
