Jasikan District Assembly drills boreholes

Akaa (V/R), Oct. 16, GNA - Mr Solomon Kwame Donkor, the Jasikan District Chief Executive has inaugurated five boreholes drilled by the district assembly at the cost of 497 million cedis at separate ceremonies at Akaa Buem and Tapa Abotoase at the weekend.

Addressing the people at Akaa where three boreholes were installed, Mr. Donkor called on the community to live in peace and harmony to enhance development.

He appealed to the people to take advantage of government interventions like the National Health Insurance Scheme, Capitation Grant and the Youth Employment Programme to raise their standard of living.

Mr Donkor said the government had made available to the Jasikan District Assembly an additional amount of 63 million cedis for the School Feeding Programme.

He said 350 pupil teachers had been recruited in the district under the Youth Employment Programme. Mr Donkor said the Atonkor-Akaa-Abotoase road would be tarred at the cost of 9.5 billion cedis.
