Immigration Officers asked to be extra vigilant at the borders

Immigration Officers at the country’s borders have been asked to be extra vigilant as the nation undertakes general elections in December.

The Assistant Controller of Immigration in-charge of Border Patrols, Mr Charles Bediako said this when he addressed Officers and Men of the Service at Jewi Wharf border near Half Assini on Wednesday.

Mr Bediako, accompanied by his Deputy, Mr Alex Adu, is on a week-long visit of border towns in the Western Region to acquaint himself with situations and conditions in those areas.

He asked the personnel to perform their duties with a professional touch that is required of them and also live above reproach.

Mr Bediako and his team had earlier addressed Immigration officers at the Elubo and New Town borders in the Jomoro District.**
