"I’ll rid Asokwa of filth"

The newly elected Chairman of the Asokwa Sub-Metro Council of Kumasi, Mr. Edward Akuamoah Boateng, has pledged to pursue strategies and programmes to address the problems of environmental degradation, unauthorised development, security and poor revenue generation in the area.

Outlining his development agenda and priorities at the first ordinary meeting of the council held in Kumasi, Boateng said there is an urgent need for the Sub-Metro Council to adopt various strategies to effectively respond to the development of the area.

To combat the problem of sanitation, he said the council intends to register all iced water sellers and educate them on proper disposal of polythene materials used in bagging the water.
