How Ho prepared for the big match

Ho, Jun. 22, GNA - Two hours to the crucial match of the World Cup match in Germany between the Black Stars and the USA, Ho the Volta Regional capital was agog with high expectations, with offices turned into parlours of discussion.

At every office visited by the GNA, discussions were going on, on the chances of the Black Stars, with many not ready to predict the margin of victory. But most of them were sure Ghana would triumph over America.

The streets around the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) where most organizations are located did not reflect a market day in Ho, as the sight of working women with baskets going in and out of the offices was not visible.

"Some of us have gone to the market early to make time for the big game which we expect would take taxis off the streets," Miss Yvonne Harlley, a Reporter with the Local Volta Star FM Station told the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

Vehicles, including some government ones were flying miniature Ghanaian flags, while many had donned hats and anything in the colours of Ghana.

Many privately owned businesses, including "Space to Space," chop and drinking bars had not opened or were providing limited services for only half the day.

"The match will start at around the time when people patronize my spot so I have cooked to last for the first three hours of the day," Miss Pearl Hagan a Food Vendor near the VRCC told the GNA.
