Hohoe District Assembly nets 925. 3 million cedis

Hohoe, Dec. 21, GNA - The Hohoe District Assembly netted 925,363,493 cedis by September this year, representing 63 per cent of its projected revenue of 1,469,464,997 cedis during the fiscal year.

The District Assembly had also committed 790 million cedis, representing the second allotment of the 2003, Heavily Indebted Poor Country Initiative (HIPC) fund, for the construction of three-unit classrooms block and a four-seater KVIP toilet facility each for the Hohoe-based Musama Disco Christo Junior Secondary School and LogbaVuinta/Akusame Local Authority Primary School.

Mr James Komla Dogbe the District Chief Executive announced this during the third ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Hohoe on Tuesday. He tasked the District Director of Education to institute measures to reverse the abysmal performance of the District in the 2004 Basic Education Certificate Examination.

Mr Dogbe said the Assembly was making efforts to establish a cassava factory to add value to the crop.
