Help improve our roads, chief appeals

Nii Pabie I, the Chief of Pabieman, in the Ga South of the Greater Accra Region, has appealed to government to help tar their roads.

The Chief, who made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Pabieman, near Kofi Kwei, said the existing 12-kilometre road serves various farming communities.

“This is the time for the people of Pabieman and the surrounding communities to also have their share of the national cake. We have suffered for far too long and the rehabilitation of the road would help alleviate our concerns,” he said.

Nii Pabie called on the government and the Ga South Municipal Assembly to provide the community with some social amenities like a senior high school, a police post, a public place of convenience, an area council office amongst others.

He said the chiefs and the elders in the area have made available lands for the construction of projects and that the citizens are ever ready to support such initiatives with their communal labour.

The chief appealed to companies to establish factories in the area to provide job opportunities for the people and help curb the rural-urban migration of the youth.

He also called on financial institutions and philanthropic organizations to extend their corporate social responsibilities initiatives to the community and help provide boreholes for the area.
