Help generate revenue for development 96 Area Councils advised

Bisease (C/R), May 30, GNA - Mr Peter Light Koomson, Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Chief Executive (DCE) has called on opinion leaders, assembly and unit committee members to work in harmony to generate revenue for the assembly for development. Mr Koomson who made the call during the inauguration of Bisease Area Council said payment of taxes and property rates and other international generated funds beef up the District Assemblies Common Fund to facilitate development in the area.

The DCE charged members to work in unity devoid of party politics, adding that the time was ripe for Ghanaians to change the politics of insults and rancour and rather join hands with the ruling government for the total development of the area.

Mr Solomon F. Cobbinah, Presiding Member of the Assembly who administered the Official Oath and Oath of Allegiance to the 48-member council said the task ahead of them would be borne by sacrifice, but however, 93your good performance will determine what will follow". Nana Kwaku Bodae IV, Benkumhen of the town appealed to the Government and the Assembly to ensure that the locally built clinic became operational with the provision of a doctor's bungalow. He requested for the completion of the town's community library complex which has been abandoned over a decade. Other councils inaugurated included Ajumako, Eshiem-Ba, Abaasa, Enyan-Denkyira and Sunkwaa. 30 May 11
