The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle in the Western Region, Joseph Agyekum, has called on Christians, especially pastors in the area, to offer continued prayers for Ghana following the tragic August 6 helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Dr. Omane Boamah, Dr Murtala Mohamme, and six others.

In an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb Western Regional Correspondent, Daniel Kaku, at the forecourt of the church of Pentecost, Nyamenle Kwagyina Central auditorium at Nzema Aiyinasi on Sunday, August 10, 2025, the Ellembelle DCE expressed profound sorrow and condolences to the families of the departed gallant souls.

What has happened in Ghana is a very, very serious and devastating one; we are mourning as a country, and we pray that God will give them a resting place. Their death was painful, but they died for the country", Ellembelle DCE said.

Ellembelle DCE, who is a Christian, took the opportunity to call on all Christians, especially pastors in the district, to intercede for the country so that this national tragedy would not happen again.

He also appealed to the pastors in the district to pray for him and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, always.

"We know you have been praying for us, but this time around, intensify it for us, pray for me and my boss Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah. I will call on all Christians and pastors in this district to pray for Ghana, President John Dramani Mahama, and other politicians", he urged.

He pledged to continue to work closely with the pastors in the district to accelerate development.

Earlier in the day, during the send-off service of the district pastor of Nyamenle Kwagyina of The Church of Pentecost, Rev. David Kweku Owodo, the Ellembelle DCE commended the District Pastor for his remarkable achievements in the district.

He urged the district pastor to continue with his good works in his new station. He also called on him to remember him and the Ellembelle MP in his daily prayers.

"We will miss your service; you have done well for this district, and we urge you to continue with it in your new station. We also urge you to continue to pray for me and my boss Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah", he urged.

The congregation, led by the District Pastor of Aiyinasi, Pastor Philip Narh Baah, interceded for the DCE, Ellembelle MP, and the country at large.
