Heavy rainfall causes havoc in parts of the Northern Region

Heavy rainfall in some parts of the country over the weekend caused havoc destroying property including bridges, with reports of at least three dead at Bole in the Northern region.

The five-hour heavy downpour Saturday night in many parts of the Bole killed the three at Kibilma, one of the deprived communities near Dakurpe about 42kilometres southwest of the district capital.

Witnesses say the storm plunged a tricycle into an uncompleted bridge which had collapsed and washed the occupants into the Yokanba River.
