New Edubiase (Ash), Oct 27, GNA - A District Director of Education has called on heads of educational institutions to be good role models in the communities in which they work for those working under them to emulate.

Miss Veronica Essuman Nelson, the new Adansi South District Director of Education, said teachers wielded a strong influence in communities where they served and their exemplary lives could go a long way to affect society in a positive way. She was speaking to basic school heads in the district at a meeting at New Edubiase on Tuesday.

Miss Nelson reminded the heads of how noble their profession is and advised them against alcoholism, sexual immorality, smoking and indecent dressing while at school since these negative tendencies were likely to tarnish the image of the profession. Mr Francis Dorpenyoh, the District Chief Executive, urged the teachers to work hard since the government is working on an appreciable salary structure for all class of workers.
