Headmaster commends government

Mozano (C/R), Nov 09, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Tsibu, the Headmaster of Mozano Secondary School, has commended the government and President John Agyekum Kufuor for his efforts at bringing education to the doorsteps of the citizenry.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Mozano, Mr Tsibu mentioned the implementation of the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE), the President's Special Initiative on Distance Education and the up grading of 31 senior secondary schools as model school as steps in the right direction.

He appealed to Ghanaians, irrespective of their political affiliation, to rally behind the programme to achieve success. Mr Tsibu said the Mozano Secondary School, which started in 1993 with 60 students, now has a population of 1,200 students made up of 560 girls and 640 boys.

He mentioned lack of accommodation for staff and students as one of the major problems facing the school and most of the staff resided at Agona Swedru.
