Head of Ahmadiya donates drugs to Prisons

Accra, July 18, GNA - Maulvi Abdul Wahab Adam, the Ameer and Missionary in Charge of the Ahmadiyya Mission in Ghana, has donated a quantity of drugs, worth five million cedis to the James Fort Prisons in Accra. The drugs included paracetamol, chloroquine, amoxycillin, bandages, multivite and trisillicate mixtures. Ms Annie Anipa, Public Affairs Director of the National Reconciliation Commission (NRC), who briefed the press, said Maulvi Wahab's donation, made on Wednesday, was in response to a promise he made on a visit to the Prisons on Monday. Maulvi Adam, who is also a member of the Commission, gave the promise during the visit by members of NRC to the James Fort Prisons, which had been mentioned on a number of times by witnesses at the NRC public hearings, as where they were detained. Mr. Kyei, Second in Command at the James Fort Prisons, received the drugs, the Public Affairs Director said.
