The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, held discussions with the British High Commissioner to Ghana, HE Christian Rogge, during a courtesy call at the Ministry of Education aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the education sector.

The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to engage on key developments and explore areas of mutual interest in advancing education.

During the meeting, the Minister highlighted a number of ongoing reforms aimed at improving access, quality, and equity across all levels of education.

He emphasised government’s commitment to strengthening foundational learning, expanding infrastructure, and promoting innovation to position Ghana’s education system to meet global standards.

Haruna Iddrisu further indicated that the Ministry is open to deepening international partnerships, noting that he is ready to grant accreditation to credible higher education institutions seeking to establish training programmes or collaborate with Ghanaian institutions.

He stressed that such partnerships must align with national development priorities and contribute meaningfully to skills development.

HE Christian Rogge commended the government’s reform agenda and reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s education sector through strategic collaboration, capacity building, and knowledge exchange.
