A 24-year-old hairdresser apprentice only identified as Latifa has committed suicide by hanging on a mango tree right in the middle of a compound house at Tumu in the Sissala East District of the Upper West region

A co-tenant who first saw the body of the deceased revealed that whiles in her room she heard an unusual noise of someone struggling.

She came out and was greeted with the gory scene of the deceased hanging on the mango tree, with a rope fastened hanging to her neck and a protruding tongue.

According to Ayamga Baba Fatawu, a local journalist from the area, the co-tenant screamed attracting the attention of other persons from the neighborhood who came to her rescue, unfastened her from the tree and rushed her to the hospital.

“She was receiving attention at the hospital but was later pronounced dead”, he disclosed.

Sister Latifa prior to her demise was a hair dresser by profession who had just passed out and licensed to work.

Because she had no shop to operate, a senior beautician gave her shop to her to take care of whilst she went on maternity leave.

The body has since been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy while police disclosed they are investigating the incident.
