Groupe Nduom supports flood, fire victims

Groupe Nduom (GN), a multi-national company of Ghanaian origin, on Thursday donated food items and some used clothing to the Osu Klottey Sub Metro Division of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

Mr Richmond Keelson, who presented the items on behalf of Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, the Group’s chairman, said the donation was its contribution towards the national effort to support the victims of June 3 flood and fire disaster that hit Accra.

The items include bags of rice and sugar, cooking oil, many crates of eggs, boxes of bottled water and some used clothing.

He said Groupe Nduom would continue to provide sustained assistance in various ways to ensure that the pain and trauma experienced by the victims and families, and indeed, the entire nation was properly managed for national development.

Mr Keelson, however, called for equity in the distribution of the various donations to prevent unnecessary agitations.

Ms Leticia Antwi, the Director of the Osu Klottey Sub Metro Division, thanked the Management of Groupe Nduom for the humanitarian deed, which she said, would go a long way to ease the distress of the victims.

She called on other institutions to emulate it, explaining that, the Osu Klottey Sub Metro, which comprises of Adabraka, Asylum Down and the Odawna areas, was the worst affected by the flood, thus leaving a huge number of people devastated.

She said the inhabitants of these areas were, therefore, counting on the benevolence of Ghanaians to survive and also be able to get over the pain of their losses.

Ms Antwi said the Sub Metro had since been gathering and compiling the data of the victims to ensure proper assistance.
