Government will pursue good policies and programmes - DCE

Agona Sorumanya (C/R), Oct. 13, GNA - Mr John Kwesi Agyabeng, District Chief Executive for Agona has stated that the NPP government would continue to pursue pragmatic policies and programmes that would ensure the welfare of all Ghanaians.

He said the government would provide adequate funds for the construction of hospitals, educational facilities, roads and poverty reduction strategy to raise the living standards of the people. Mr Agyabeng said this at Agona Sorumanya to climax their annual Akwambo festival at the weekend.

He assured the chiefs and people of Sorumanya that all development projects due them would be provided by the Agona District Assembly and asked them to rally behind the government. Mr Agyabeng who is the NPP's parliamentary candidate for Agona East in the 2004 elections, asked the people to avoid chieftaincy disputes. Mr Hackim Baidoo, Chairman of Sorumanya Youth Association praised the government for its poverty reduction efforts through micro financing to the women.
