Government urged to assist intellectuals to reduce brain drain

Nkawkaw, Dec. 22, GNA - The General Secretary of the Apostolic Church of Ghana, Apostle Kodwo Baiden Denson, has urged the government to assist intellectuals with finance and logistics after their education to undertake group and individual establishments to reduce the high rate of brain drain in the country.

He said for the country to gain economic independence from foreign domination the nation's intellectuals such as engineers, scientists, doctors, administrators and other qualified professionals must be assisted to set up companies to create employment for the youth. Apostle Denson was addressing a four-day pre-Christmas convention under the theme "Salvation for all Men" organized by the Nkawkaw area of the church at Nkawkaw.

He said if the nation's road and building contractors were given machinery and training they would be able to win contracts awarded to foreign contractors to retain the huge sum of foreign exchange being taken out of the country.
