Government to provide Assin Foso with pipe-borne water

Assin Foso(C/R), Jan. 10, GNA- Government is collaborating with the European Union, to start a pipe-borne water project at Assin Foso in the Central Region, this month at the cost of seven million pounds sterling. The Assin North District Chief Executive, Mr Kwabena Karikari Apau, announced this at a special church service organised by the Assin District Churches Association (ADCA), the District Assembly, World Vision Area Development Programme (ADP) and the District office of the Electoral Commission, to thank God for the success of Election 2004. Mr Apau said government had committed resources for the tarring of artery roads in Assin township as part of the Infrastructural Improvement Programme.

He said an automatic voltage regulator, which is needed to boost television transmission in the District, would also be procured at the end of the month.

The Chairman of the ADCA, Reverend John Brown, expressed the need for people to patronise the National Health Insurance Scheme to promote effective health care delivery in the District.

Apostle-General George Narh, of the Assin Area Church of Pentecost, asked the political parties to co-exist peacefully. The Manager of ADP of World Vision, Mr Armo Annor, called for the collaboration of civil society groups and government to promote development.
