Gomoa East Assembly asks for new DCE

Mr Fred Joe Arthur, Presiding Member for Gomoa East District Assembly (DCE), has appealed to the President to appoint a substantive District Chief Executive to speed up the development of the area.

He said Mr Ehunu Armah, the current DCE has completed his four-year tenure of office and should either be re-nominated or replaced.

Mr Arthur made the appeal at the second Ordinary Meeting of the Assembly at Gomoa Afransi, when the presence of Mr Armah did not go down well some of the assembly members.

However, Mr Joseph Acquah-Durban, Secretary to Assembly, who is the District Coordinating Director, told the house that since he has not received any letter from the President on the dismissal of the DCE he should be regarded as the one in charge.

Mr Armah said the Assembly had outlined new policies and programmes in its 2014 budget and called on members to assist to implement them to improve the lot of the people.
