Go into farming - Cattle farmer urges youth

The Tema Metropolitan Best Cattle Farmer, Alhaji Bukare Bande, has called on the youth to go into farming no matter the level of education they acquire.

He said instead of waiting for government to provide jobs, the youth should venture into farming.

Alhaji Bande said this when Today paid a visit to his farm at Borteyman on the motorway.

He said he has been into cattle farming for the past twenty five years.

“I have educated my children, built houses, taken care of my family and offered numerous help to even people who are not my family members through cattle farming," he revealed.

He appealed to government to put in place measures and incentives to help farmers and make farming attractive, especially to the youth.

He also appealed to the banks to make flexible loan terms, especially for farmers, so that they can access them and expand their businesses.

He thanked government for recognising the hard work of farmers and rewarding them accordingly.

Alhaji Bande has over 120 cattle in Accra.
