Ghanaians urged to be cautious of tricksters

Mr Gordon Ofori, a United States-based Ghanaian business executive, has urged Ghanaians to be wary of tricksters who take advantage of the economic constraints to dupe them.

He said the citizens should believe in themselves and avoid idleness and to take advantage of opportunities that could bring or supplement their incomes to curb poverty.

Mr Ofori gave the warning when the management of Melody Early Childhood Development Centre and Preparatory School and the Total Life Changes (TLC), a corporate business entity based in the United States organised a day’s wealth creation workshop for the people of Fiapre, near Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Mr Ofori, who is a representative of TLC and a facilitator of the workshop, said it is his outfit's desire to expose as many Ghanaians as possible to the numerous business opportunities around the globe.

He said TLC has a wide range of businesses and trade packages that could meet both the local and international markets and consumers.

"My goal is to help my countrymen and women to create and share wealth to improve their living conditions and enjoy fulfilling lives, financially, mentally and spiritually.”

Mr Ofori later took the large participants through some business topics like effective sales and marketing skills, proper records and bookkeeping as well as the principles of networking.

Mr Samuel Lawrence Apraku, Headmaster of the Melody Early Childhood Development Centre and Preparatory School said the programme was part of his institution's social responsibility to the community in which it operates.

He said it has always been the goal of the school to transform lives, not only of students, but the adult populace, hence the workshop to sensitise the people on local and international business opportunities to improve their lots.

"We want to help you to create wealth so that you would be able to take good care of yourselves and your children,” Mr Apraku who is also a Pastor of the Nkwabeng-Agbozo branch of the Deeper Life Bible Church, told the gathering.
