Ghana Publishers Association donates relief items to Maamobi Hospital

The Ghana Publishers Association (GPA) has donated COVID-19 relief items to the Maamobi General Hospital to protect the health workers and patients.

The items donated include, 18 Veronica buckets, 300 pieces of medical hand gloves, 27 bottles of Dettol, five gallons of liquid soap, and 96 bottles of hand sanitizer.

Mr Benjamin Klu, the Executive Secretary of the Association, doing the donation said they felt the need to assist the hospital especially in this era of the pandemic which had affected the country and worldwide and noted that the government and civil society groups could not fight this alone.

He said this was important to the Association as the disease was not only destroying lives but businesses saying “so we are helping in the fight to bring businesses back on track”.

“We as publishers even though we deal in books and not directly involved in medicine are doing our part to save lives,” Mr Klu said.

Mrs Hellen Tetteh, the Administrator of Maamobi General Hospital, on behalf of the staff and management expressed appreciation to GPA for the donation.

She gave the assurance that the items would be put to good use to improve the quality of care at the hospital.
