In a move aimed at transforming education in Ghana, GH Schools on Friday, August 29, 2025, launched an innovative 24-hour education system designed to expand access to technical and vocational training while meeting the growing demand for educational opportunities.
Speaking at the launch held at the school’s auditorium, the Rector of GH Schools, Leslie Addo Listowell, emphasised the initiative’s importance.
“Round-The-Clock learning experience will provide unprecedented access to education at any time and educational resources at every time,” he said.
He added, “We aim at creating a learning environment that will not only be accessible, but also be engaging and effective.”
The initiative introduces a shift-based learning approach, with dawn, morning, afternoon, and evening classes. This is intended to maximise the use of existing school facilities and accommodate more students, particularly in oversubscribed programs such as Catering, Fashion, and Multimedia.
High-profile attendees at the launch included Samlara B. Kodua from the Office of the 24 Hour Economic Policy, the Chancellor of GH Schools Rev Dr Osei Kusi, and the Assistant Superintendent of Police at the Achimota School Police Station, who highlighted security measures to ensure the safety of students during the 24-hour learning system.
The round-the-clock learning model aligns with the government’s vision of a 24-hour economy, promoting flexibility and inclusivity that allows students who are busy during the daytime to pursue education at other times.
