GAABIC congratulates President Mills and Vice President Mahama

Tamale, Feb. 9, GNA - The Ghana Agricultural Association of Business and Information Centre (GAABIC) on Monday congratulated President John Evans Atta Mills and Vice President John Dramani Mahama. A statement issued in Tamale and signed by Mr. Patrick Adingtingah Apullah, General Secretary of GAABIC, expressed the hope that the humility of both President Mills and Vice President Mahama would catapult Ghana into a poverty-free country. "On behalf of the executives of the Apex Farmers' Organisation of Ghana (APFOG), Croplife Ghana (CLG) and Ghana Agric-Input Dealers Association (GAIDA), we wish to congratulate President Atta Mills and Vice President Mahama for attaining the high office of the land", the statement said.

The association appealed to President Mills to fulfil his campaign promises to farmers and they should not hesitate to address the major challenges facing farming in the country. The statement drew the government's attention to the near collapse of the cotton and the sheanut industries and said these industries needed to be revamped. The statement pledged the association's support for the government to implement its projects and programmes. 09 Feb 09
