Denmark, 'M S Action Aid', has donated health and educational facilities, worth three thousand dollars to the Builsa south constituency, in the Builsa district of the Upper East Region.

The items include hospital beds, computers, tables, chairs, and theatre equipments.

Mr Alhassan Azong, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and Minister of State responsible for Public Sector Reform, who presented the items to the communities, at the week end, noted that, the items were to promote quality health delivery and foster quality education in the area.

Mr Azong indicated that, even though electricity was a challenge in the area, some of the items, which include computers, would be used to introduce Information Communication Technology (ICT) to Junior High Schools in the area.

He said GHC25,000 from the MP's common fund was used for the transportation of the items and called on the benefiting institutions to make good use of the equipment for the development of the area.

The MP said he would collaborate with the opinion leaders in the area to institute an educational fund to help support brilliant but needy students in the area.

He said he has good developmental intentions for the area and would provide a power plant for the health centre very soon.

Mrs Margaret Pwaberi, Medical Assistant at the Fumbisi health centre, took the MP round the centre and assured him that the equipment would be put to good use.

She said the centre was under staffed and called on the regional health directorate to post qualified health personnel to the area to assist in health delivery in the area.

The Chief of Wiesi near Fumbisi, Nab Akanab Apoom-Ween, who received the items on behalf of the communities, commended the NGO for its assistance towards the development of the people in the area and called on other developmental partners to emulate them.
