A fuel tanker with registration number, GW-6278-W, overturned at Achimota Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred after a saloon car crossed the tanker, which was heading to Tema from Kade in the Eastern Region.

The tanker overturned as the driver tried to avoid hitting the saloon car.

“My driver opted to climb onto the pavement in order to save lives,” the tanker driver’s mate, Jones Kanor, told Atinka TV’s reporter, Ebenezer Maedugu.

It took the quick response from the Tesano Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department, the Fire Service and Road Safety Personnel to calm the situation.

According to the Divisional Commander of the Tesano MTTD, DSP Francis Aboagye, the Police will conduct further investigations into the matter.
