The National Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has donated 100 bags of cement towards the construction of a police barrack for Esiama Divisional Police Command.

The Esiama Divisional Police Command in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region is currently constructing a 10-million-Ghana-cedis accommodation facility for its personnel.

In this regard, the Divisional Commander together with his men visited the NPP's National Chairman at his residence at Eikwe in the District three days ago to appeal to him to support them to execute the project.

However, Freddie Blay welcomed the move and promised to support them with 400 bags of cement.

To show leadership, Freddie Blay over the weekend directed Ellembelle NPP Constituency Chairman and other Executives to donate 100 bags of cement to the Command.

Receiving the gesture, the Esiama Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commission of Police ACP Dodzi Hlodzi disclosed that he came to the area to realise that the Command does not have a police barrack and upon this situation, he made an appeal to his personnel to contribute building materials to construct a barrack for them.

He added that so far his men had donated 115 bags of cement towards the construction of the facility.

"Here is Esiama Divisional Police Command, we don't have barrack so when was I posted here in two months ago I saw the need to establish an accommodation for the Divisional Command so I made an appeal to my personnel here and so far they have donated 115 bags of cement", he said.

"After the donation from my personnel, we went to the National Chairman of NPP to appeal to him to help us to continue with our project and he became happy and promised to give us 400 bags of cement and today as you see here, he has given us 100 bags of cement", he continued.

He, therefore seized the opportunity to commend Freddie Blay for the kind gesture.

He urged other public-spirited individuals to emulate what Freddie Blay has done and come to aid.

"We are very happy for the gesture and if others can help us in this way like we will complete this project within six months so we are happy, we thank him and asking God to bless him abundantly, in fact he has really done well".

"I will use this opportunity to make a passionate appeal to everybody in Ghana, in Ellembelle District, Jomoro Municipality and Nzema East Municipality to come to our aid, if you give us even one cement we will take it, if you give us one iron rod we will take it, everything that you will give us we will take it so we thank Hon. Freddie Blay for taking the lead", he stated.

ACP Dodzi Hlodzi did not forget about the Constituency Executives in the area by thanking them to remind the National Chairman of their appeal.

"We also thank all NPP Constituency Executives in Ellembelle and all NPP members because it is through their efforts that we have received this donation from Freddie Blay", he acknowledged.

Mr. Samuel Akainyah, the Ellembelle NPP Constituency Chairman who did the presentation on behalf of Freddie Blay, said Freddie Blay has the development of Ellembelle at heart.

Mr. Akainyah assured the Divisional Commander that Freddie Blay would very soon donate the rest of the bags of cement to the Command.

He disclosed that apart from the cements, the Constituency Executive Committee were in talks with Freddie Blay to do more for the Command.

He also took the opportunity to appeal to other benevolent organizations within the District to support the Command to complete their project.

"I will appeal to companies in this area to support the Esiama Divisional Police Command to complete this project because the security of this District should be our topmost priority and without security we can't do our normal businesses so let us help as Freddie Blay has done today", he concluded.
