Founding Member pleased with outcome of NDC congress

Winneba, Dec 29, GNA - A founding member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kofi Mintah, has appealed to the losing presidential aspirants who contested with Prof John Attah Mills to honour their promise of supporting the winner. Mr Mintah said fulfilling the promise would not only prove their sincerity to the leaders and supporters of the party but would also strengthen the campaign machinery of the party. "It will further demonstrate their strong commitment and dedication to the goals and aspirations of internal democracy in the NDC and growth of the country's young democracy in general," he said in an interview with the GNA.

Mr Mintah, who is also the Central Regional Chairman of the Senior Citizens Association of the party, said the orderly manner the NDC conducted the congress proved that the party has come of age. It has further demonstrated to detractors of the party that the party is not trouble-making political group. Mr Mintah praised the three losing presidential aspirants for their high sense of unity, mutual understanding and co-operation that contributed to the success of the congress.
