Football administrator installed as Tufohene

Dawu Akuapem, Oct. 27, GNA - Mr Seth Kwadwo Yeboah, former chairman of Dawu Youngsters Football Club, was on Tuesday installed Tufohene of Dawu. The 60-year-old businessman expressed his appreciation to the kingmakers of Dawu for the confidence reposed in him and said he would bring development to the area and unite his people. Mr Yeboah said one major area he would concentrate on was education development through provision of infrastructure and education materials. He said it was unfortunate that the Akuapem area, which was a "beacon of education", had lost that attribution and presently experiencing mass failures in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Mr Yeboah said another area of concern was unemployment among the youth in the area and promised to open a vocational training centre to give skills to them. He said over the past 15 years he had assisted in promoting the image of Dawu to the outside world through the formation of Dawu Youngsters Football Club, which was relegated to the first division in 2002, building of a stadium and a club house. Mr Yeboah assured that he would continue to support the community in diverse ways to bring back the lost glory. He appealed to the people of Dawu to consider unity as a key component for development and unite as one people with a common destiny.
