Fishermen awaiting new price for marine gas oil

Some fishermen at the Albert Bosomtwi-Sam Fishing Harbour at Sekondi on Monday called on fuel companies to come out with the new price for marine gas oil.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Sekondi, a cross section of the fishermen said the new price for marine gas oil has not been announced and because of that, the Ghana Inshore Fisheries Association has not been able to supply them with the product since Sunday when the new fuel prices were announced.

Most of them said they had no other alternative but to buy the product from the open market at the new price to enable them go fishing.

Those who cannot afford the new price in the open market are out of business.

The fishermen also appealed to the government to ensure regular supply of pre-mix fuel.
