"Fire works" stirs up celebration atmosphere in Ho

Ho, March 6, GNA - A four-hour fireworks display by the Global Media Alliance in Ho on Monday night to usher in the country's Golden Jubilee stirred up the interest of residents of Ho towards the celebrations.

As the beautiful fire works lit the night sky with their accompanying thundering and air splitting reports, many people who did not make it to the Ho Sports stadium for the occasion came out to admire the spectacle into the early hours of Tuesday March 6.

Goats and sheep let loose that Monday night ran bleating for shelter at the booming sound and brightly lit multi-coloured fire-works. Many people thronged the Sports stadium with their families resplendent in the national colours and danced all night as the South Africa-based fireworks team demonstrated its dexterity at the fire works display.

Traffic was heavy as people who never seemed tired moved from one entertainment centre to the other in groups singing patriotic songs. Until that Monday night display, the atmosphere in the town was that of indifference as many claimed they were unaware of programmes lined-up for the regional celebrations.
