Fifty-four school children in Oguaa receive assistance from the US

Cape Coast, July 7, GNA- Fifty-four primary school children in the Cape Coast Municipality were on Saturday presented with 1,620 dollars, books, pencils and pens by the St Michaels' Baptist Church and ''Friends of Brooklyn'' in the United States (US). The Church also donated books, bibles and pens to the Cape Coast Castle library. Making the presentation Mrs Joan Thomas, leader of the group, said the donation was in response to an appeal by Mr Leo Yankson, the museum's librarian, when the group visited the museum last year. Mrs Thomas said children who regularly patronise the library would be given 30 dollars each for the payment of their school fees. Mr Raymond Agbo, Director in charge of the Central and Western regions of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB), thanked the church and the 'Friends of Brooklyn' for the items.
