Farmer who defiled stepdaughter granted bail

Mankranso (Ash), Oct 7, GNA - Yaw Frimpong, a 30-year-old farmer, who appeared before the Mankranso magistrate court for defiling his 13 year old step daughter, was on Tuesday granted five million cedis bail with one surety to justify.

His plea was not taken and he will re-appear on October 14. Police Inspector Carl Michael Adjeng told the Court that the accused lived with his wife Madam Afua Birago and the victim at Kumawu village near Mankranso.

He said about two months ago, Madam Birago travelled to her hometown Kumawu Bodomase and the accused took the opportunity to forcibly have sex with the stepdaughter on three occasions.

Insp. Adjeng said the accused warned the girl not to tell anybody about the matter since she will die immediately she told someone.

He said the cousin of the victim's mother detected a change in her walking and suspecting that the victim was sick, the relative confronted her (victim) and she said her stepfather had defiled her. 07 Oct. 03
